I was a real NERD when I came. I was getting over a hip replacement and walking very poorly with a cane. Since working with Steve, I have gained strength in my back, legs, and arms. Sometimes I start off without my cane, but must return to retrieve it. I come twice weekly and am seeing excellent results.

When I retired I weighed more than I ever had in my life. At 6’2” and 260 lbs. I felt I had to do something about it. I adjusted my diet by eliminating junk food and minimizing fatty food and I started working out on our elliptical machine at home. After a few weeks I lost a few pounds but realized that in order to achieve my desired results I would need to do more. That’s when I met Ira and decided to work with him as my personal trainer twice a week. Initially we focused on cardio workouts to achieve the desired weight loss. After 9 months my weight had dropped from 260 lbs. to 200 lbs. and our workout focus shifted to strength training to improve tone and build muscle. Ira definitely pushed me harder than I would have pushed myself but he did it with a good sense of humor (at least he thought it was funny) and I always felt he cared about my success and wellbeing. I’ve been working out for about 30 years, and like many people, had decided I couldn’t afford or didn’t need a personal trainer. I used a mix of running a few miles per week for aerobic activity and machine-use three to five times a week, squeezed into my lunch hour.
